Simulation Studio puts you in control of your phishing simulations. Its rich text editor allows you to create and customize email phishing templates from start to finish. You can tailor the content, adjust the design, and choose the domain that best matches your scenario, all within an easy to use interface.
How to use the studio
Once inside, you can begin creating your phishing simulation template. To help you get started, a default template is provided which you can customize as needed. You are free to modify it entirely to match your goals.
A valid email template requires the following components in order to be saved:
1. Phishing template name
Give your template a clear and recognizable name.
2. Description (optional)
Add an optional description to provide context or additional information about the template.
3. Sender domain
This will act as the default domain when the template is selected during a simulation campaign. It can be changed if you choose to use the template inside a DMI simulation.
4. Subject
This is the email subject line that will appear to the recipient.

Once all required fields are completed, you can save the email template to the content library. You also have the option to save your progress and return later or continue working on your email simulation.
Building a template
Inside the canvas, a variety of tools are available to help you design your email template. The studio offers prebuilt templates, so you don’t have to start from scratch. From here, you can:
- Toolbar: The email editor toolbar lets users format phishing email content with rich-text tools like text styling, lists, links, images, and undo/redo. It helps create realistic and well-structured phishing templates quickly.
- Placeholders & links: This section lets users insert placeholders (e.g., “First Name”), add phishing URLs to simulate malicious links, and attach clue tooltips that highlight suspicious elements to help users spot phishing red flags.
- Visual/HTML View Toggle: The Visual/HTML toggle lets users switch between a preview-friendly editor and raw HTML mode for advanced customization and troubleshooting.
- Advanced editor: At the bottom of the editor panel, users can access the “Advanced Editor” by clicking the provided button. This feature is intended for users who need more powerful editing capabilities or access to extended tools not available in the standard editor. It’s ideal for crafting more complex or technically specific simulations.

Capabilities of the simulation studio:

- Drag and drop images into the template: Easily insert or replace images by dragging and dropping files directly into the canvas. You can then adjust the image size and position smoothly within your template.
- Advanced editor: Perfect for fine-tuning emails or gaining more flexibility in editing. From customizing fonts, alignment, and colors to dragging and dropping elements like separators, columns, buttons, and more, the Advanced Editor gives users complete control to fully personalize their phishing simulations.
- Automatic translations: instantly translate the email subject and body into over 28 languages with a single click. After the initial translation, you can further customize each language version for more accurate and tailored messaging.
- “Test” customization to emails from inside the simulation studio
- Adding clues: you can attach “clues” to any component within the Simulation Studio, such as text, images, text inside buttons, and more. These clues will appear as interactive pop-ups on the landing page when a simulation is launched. All the clues set in the template can be automatically translated.
